Cool stuff..

Another Wednesday night with these creative ladies, and they had some amazing show & tell!

Some of the ladies had been to a workshop with Barb Smith and her whimsical button creations. These are Tracee's pretty frame and gift box. Looks like lots of fun.

Annette was still stitching little Christmas gift tags, aren't they lovely! How pretty would a Christmas gift look with one of these attached!

Finally, Marina showed us her latest creation, a very beautiful quilt with delicate floral fabrics in light to dark shading. Marina also did the quilting and it looks very professional!

Another inspiring night with clever & creative friends!

Another Wednesday night

Several of us braved the winter night to sit and sew together. There was some sewing going on, but many actually knitted.
Marina had finished a couple of quilts, first a lovely floral quilt, and another one with beautiful Balis, and cut (if I remember correctly) on the Accuquilt.

Sue had been finishing the border on this knitted blanket. Very colouful, and lots of movement in that wool.
Helen, Marg, and Patti were knitting, Annette was cutting out fabric, Tracee was blanket stitching her "North Pole" quilt, and Donna was binding a 2600 quilt (to be revealed soon).
All in all, a productive and fun evening!

Wednesday happenings

Last night we had the pleasure of two new ladies, both knitters but who knows, they might turn to quilting now they know us!!
Margaret has finished her sewing bag - mostly handmade... loads of pockets for storing the necessities for sewing...

she has done a beautiful job...lovely buttons and embellishments.......

Something inside Marg???

Anette has dome heaps of work on the bed runner she is making from her daughters wedding dress....beautiful!

And Anette has been working on a bed runner for herself, she is one busy lady!! Love the colours here Anette!

And Miss Tracee got busy a couple of Sunday's ago when she had no power for the day - she made this beautiful hippy hippo from a RicRac pattern. Isn't she so cute?
We are very lucky to have such a clever talented group!

Wednesday craftiness

We had some lovely show-and-tells last Wednesday night. Marg especially had done a lot of work, and showed us her beautiful sunflower bag. It was just so perfectly done, surely the stern judges at the CWA will find no fault with it!

Marg also made some really nice pot holders which will come in handy for whoever they are meant for.

Now don't you just love that OWL!!! It's a pillowcase, quite professionally finished with a zipper! And Marg's piece de resistance, a handmade doll. 'Misty' is a lovely lady dressed in lace and velvet (something of the 70s there, Marg?), with her own 'diamond' necklace and a bunch of flowers. Love the hat and jacket, well done, you!

Finally, here's Sue's 'Bollywood' crazy patch block. The photo is a bit blurry and doesn't do it justice. It was just fantastic; all that was missing was a bit of Bollywood music! Can't wait to see that quilt finished!
