crafty cleverness.....

a little catch up on some of the crafty gorgeousness on Wednesday night....

Marg's sweet little teddy bear...

Amanda's Argyle quilt made for her now-fiance Josh (love that engagement ring, Miss Amanda!)...

Sarah's pretty applique...

Maureen's stunning french braid quilt, made with the beautiful 'Panier des Fleurs' range by French General. A really beautiful quilt, Maureen.

and lastly, just a gorgeous box of threads - I loved seeing all these colours sitting next to each other waiting to be used in Amanda's stitchery - photos to come soon

new members, new quilts

Looks like I'm the blog-hog at the moment! Welcome to new members, our group is betting bigger - and should I say it - younger! Great to have new members and new ideas. Here's a lovely quilt made by Sarah? (Not too good with the names yet). Traditional sampler with some lovely blocks.

Donna finally finished a quilt too - doesn't happen often these days! It's a table runner, own design, hand made, and going to Germany.

more sewing

Dorothy finished a cute little redwork stitchery (no Dorothy, we don't mind if it's not ironed for the photo!).

Helen brought in her lovely raggedy-seams flannel quilt to show us. The designs in these fabrics are really lovely. Gorgeous quilt Helen!

Annette's quilt

I forgot to say Annette even added a label!! How good is that?

Annette's quilt

Annette has finished her "plain" (her words) quilt - if I remember correctly this quilt started because Annette bought the centre piece of fabric and then said what do I do from here?? Beautiful job Annette.

Quilt for Vietnam

Annette's daughter is off to Vietnam to work in a hospital and an orphanage that cares for HIV babies - I made this cheats quilt (no wadding) for her to take over there.

Show and tell

Marg has completed her French Braid quilt - it looks amazing, the blues have come up really well.

The owls have landed!!

The owls are finished - well the sewing part now just have to find a piece of dowel and hang it on the wall! I am chuffed - so good to get something finished!! One little owl is still sleepy, not quite woken up yet! Thanks for the idea Donna! Actually this wee owl looks a little grumpy to be disturbed!!

Photo quilt

This is a quilt I made for my Dad - kind of a potted history of his life in pictures. The photos were printed on fabric and then made in to hexagons. Was really happy with this one.
